Why I would be a great Idaho Legislator.
• Earned the rank of "Life" Boy Scout.
• Learned service, duty, and hard work by working as a newspaper deliverer for over 10 years.
• Earned an all-expense paid trip to New York City to broadcast my voice and thoughts over Radio Free Europe when I was 12. I was recognized and appeared on the Ed Sullivan TV Show in 1956.
• A proud Graduate of Boise High School, class of 1961.
• Spent two years as a missionary for my church.
• Served Eight years and three terms in the Idaho National Guard. I was in charge of the Communications section for Company A.
• A father of four children, each a leader in their profession.
• Ran for Boise City Council in the early 1970’s
• Worked for Idaho Camera in downtown Boise.
• Won awards for selling insurance as an Idaho licensed insurance agent. Sold over 100 policies in Hammet, Idaho, in one week.
• Worked for Pitney Bowes and won awards.
• Was drawn to the Computer technology and worked in a "BYTE" shop (computer store) as a salesman.
• Was hired to manage Northwest Computers in Boise.
• Created three successful technology companies in Boise.
• Managed the first computer operation for the City of Boise in the Boise City Shops Vehicle Maintenance division.
• Was the third employee of a very successful Vehicle fleet Management software developer. Became the National Trainer and traveled nationwide to help with the new installation and training of those operating it.
• Was SafeLink Internet's first employee in Treasure Valley. Helped develop the market in this area and installed the system in many homes in the valley.
• My wife and I owned and operated a company that installed low-voltage wiring in new homes in the Boise Valley.
• Worked for ADA County Election Services at voting locations. I have been a Chief Judge for many years.
• For over 10 years, my wife and I served on “Ride Idaho,” a bicycle weeklong tour of different areas in the State. We performed “SAG” duties that provided support services, including Emergency Communications and assistance to riders along the road.
• Earned the United States "Presidential Award" for public service.
These life experiences qualify me and give me a unique insight into problem-solving and the skills needed to make a difference in the State of Idaho legislature.
